About the Role

Burke is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) team in Lufkin, TX. This position provides direct occupational therapy and consultative services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) who have developmental delays or are medically at risk.

Services are delivered in community-based settings, including children's homes and other natural environments. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll work closely with families to support each child's developmental progress through individualized therapy, caregiver education, and collaborative treatment planning.

This position is based in Lufkin, TX and requires travel throughout the service area.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to infants and toddlers from birth to age three
  • Deliver consultative services as recommended by the interdisciplinary team
  • Conduct evaluations and participate in determining therapy needs
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies
  • Educate and coach parents and caregivers to support developmental progress
  • Collaborate with service coordinators, therapists, physicians, and other community professionals
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
  • Travel throughout the service area to provide services in homes and community settings

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university
  • One (1) year of experience providing direct services to individuals with disabilities
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Commitment to providing family-centered, evidence-based care
  • Valid Texas driver's license required

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Occupational Therapist license in good standing with the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
  • Valid Texas driver's license required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to walk, bend, and drive throughout the service area
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterity
